Breaking News: I Have A TV Boner
Very interesting TV news tonight -- Variety is reporting that Dustin Hoffman has signed on for his first TV gig in over 40 years as he will star in the upcoming HBO series Luck, which will be written and created by David Milch (NYPD Blue, Deadwood). On top of that dream combo, it was previously announced that Michael Mann (Miami Vice, Manhunter, Heat) will direct the pilot and serve as an executive producer on the series. Luck will follow a hyper-intelligent gambler (Hoffman) who's just been released from prison only to fall back into the world of horse racing. Mann vet Dennis Farina (Crime Story, Manhunter, Get Shorty, Out Of Sight) has also signed on to play Hoffman's driver/confidante. According to Variety, HBO is aiming for a January 2011 launch and believe me, with the talent signed onto this one January can't possibly come soon enough.
